Philipp “Fippo” Hancke is a very nice, friendly German robot made almost entirely out of WebRTC.
As a 15 year veteran of realtime tech, Fippo is not only &yet’s WebRTC lead, he’s one of the world’s leading WebRTC experts. He is the lead dev for Talky, &yet’s simple video chat product, which continues to attract thousands of new users.
With a strong command of the intricacies of the WebRTC spec and the nuances of each browser’s implementation, there are few in the world who can quickly identify and diagnose issues at all levels of the complex WebRTC stack. He has identified numerous show-stopping issues over the past couple of years.
As an avid thinker and writer, he can be found blogging for &yet and WebRTCHacks. His WebRTCHacks peers refer to him as “the big gun” because of his detailed teardowns of services employing WebRTC, like Google Hangouts and Firefox Hello.
He is also a mechanical engineer, in case his comprehensive skill set wasn’t enough for you. Does this mean he is good at all the things? Let’s just put it this way: he’s good enough at so many things, math cannot prove otherwise.
When he’s not turning enemies into friends and doing all the webs, Philipp likes to fly ridiculously ginormous kites at the beach and skewer authority.
